Kundalini Yoga clothes for men

As an Instructor of Kundalini Yoga, it is expected that one wears white when teaching. There is no standard yoga outfit per se, however I have found it considerably challenging to find good quality white yoga clothes for men made from a light natural material and at a reasonable price. This list may save you some time and money.

  • eBay – good value if you are ok with purchasing clothes without trying on first. Search for “mens white linen“.  Also look at the “mens Thai fisherman white pants” and “mens thai white shirts“. Try to get the heavy grade material as the lighter material are almost transparent
  • Summer time high street. You will often get a good selection of linen and white cotton shirts and light trousers mid-summer. When I started the teacher training, it was sept/oct and there was nothing in the shops. During the summer you might consider shopping for winter
  • Martial arts stores. There is a good place beside Leicester Square called Shaolin Way. If you are unfamiliar with Karate sizes the following is a useful guide. Size 160 =  5′ 1″ to 5′ 4″, and a Size 180 = 5’9″ to 5′ 11″. Personally I find Karate pants a little too wide at the bottom but they are a great starter for about £5 – £10.  I’ve found the white kick-boxing pants good.
  • Salwar Kameez. This is a traditional Indian dress. Salwar is a light trousers tightened at the waist, and Kameez is a long light tunic. Very comfortable. For a beautiful range of mens (and womens) Salwar Kameez contact Lisa Lu, who is a talented designer of yoga clothes in Italy.
